Darcha Padum Trekking

DAY 01: Arrival Delhi,
Reception in air port, transfer to the hotel, O/N in hotel.

 DAY 02: Delhi to Manali (2000 m.) 570 kms. 16 hours,
B by night tourist bus. Full day sight seen in Delhi, evening transfer to bus station, night in comfortable bus.

 DAY 03: Manali
Morning reached Manali, check in hotel, Visit Manu temple in old Manali, 

Hadimba temple in middle of cedar forest, After lunch hot spring at vashisht, afternoon free in town, Night in hotel.

DAY 04: Manali to Jispa- Darcha (135 km)(3300m)
Drive along the Beas river upstream long the true left bank through the several villages to the Rohtang pass (4050 m).Down hill drive to the Gramphu and and passport check point at Koksar. Reach Keylong the tribal dist. headquarter, 35 kms a head campsite at Jispa or Darcha.

DAY 05: Jispa-Darcha to Palmo (3600 m) 5:30 hours. Trek 1
First day of trek. After 30 minutes walk check post is established, visit the tinny hamlet and continue high over the Zanskar Chhu river through the last village of the valley (Rarick and Chhika) After few ½ hour walk camp site is visible on the right side of the Zanskar Chhu (river). O/N in camp.

DAY 06: Palmo to Zanskar Sumdo (3950 m) 6 hours. Trek 2
Gradual walk through the boulders and meadows; shepherds from the Kangra valley can be seen with their flocks. Easy stream crossing. Camping site are available both side of the river.

DAY 07: Zanskar Sumdo to Chhumik Marpo (4500 m) 7:30 hours Trek 3
Day begin with Short climbing upward the Shingola along with tributary of Zanskar chhu, After while gradual walk in the narrow valley through meadows of wild flowers, campsite on the foot of Shingola where night gleams by the snowy mountains.

DAY 08: Chhumik Marpo to Lahkhang (4300 m)over Shingo la(5090 m) 7 to 8hours. Trek 4
Path leads over moraines, ice chilled stream may have to crossed, over snow and Moraine ( glacier), suddenly prayer flags can be seen flattering high over the pass. Descend to the Zanskar valley, before arriving at campsite one have to wad through Kargyak Chhu, beautiful campsite on the bank of Lhakhang Chhu.

DAY 09: Lhakhang to Kargyak (4060 m) 5 hours. Trek 5
Easy trek beside the right bank of Kargyak Chhu and foot of the Gumboranjom tower; a chilled stream has to cross. an opportunity to see closely the herds of yaks, Marmots are whistling around the meadow and plays hide and seek. Long series of Mane wall and Chhorten are a symbol to reach Kargyak village, It houses a small gompa on the top of village.

DAY 10: Kargyak to Purni (3800 m) 6 hours. Trek 6
Trail goes through Tanze, Kuru, Testa and Yal. Villages Farmer can be seen cultivating their fields with melodious song of Zanskar. Reached Purni, situated on the confluence of the Tsarap and Kargyak Chhu.

DAY 11: Purni to Phucktal back to Purni. 4 hours too and fro. Trek. 7
Visit Phuktal and back to Camp at purni. Phucktal belongs to the tradition of the Gelugpas (Yellow hats). The spring that gurgle deep in the cave is still out of bound to the women. The Hungarian historian cosma de Koros stayed there over the winter of 1825-26

DAY 12: Purni to Pipula (3600 m) 5 hours. Trek 8
Back till bridge, and follow the confluence and continue by the left bank of Tserap river to Cha, Surley till Pipula situated on the bank of river Tserap.

DAY 13: Pipula to Raru via Ichar (3700 m) 5.30 hours. Trek 9
Again sunny trail beside the river, Photogenic Ichhar village located opposite of the trail, visit the village and gompa at the top of village, after short distance camp site is located beside the lake where people stock the water for irrigation.

DAY 14: Raru to Padum (3600 m) 6hours. Trek 10
Leave early in the morning, visit Mune gompa and Bardan, a Kagyupa monastery is famous for its prayer wheel. Reached Padum administrative headquarter of Zanskar sub-division of Kargil distt. O/N in camp at Padum.

DAY 15: Padum to Rangdum (3600 m). over Pensila (4400 m).
Drive early, over the Pensila, Visit the Sainy gompa, Road leads through several villages, Spectacle view of the Darung- drung glacier and the whole chaine of Zanskar. Descending to the valley from the pass, visit the monastery of Rangdum. camp on the meadow of Edelweiss.

DAY 16: Rangdum to kargil (3700 m). Drive
Full day driving through the Suru valley,one of the most beautiful valley in the Ladakh. One can have the bewitching view of the magnificent Nun-Kun, Himalayan peaks of the Zanskar range. The trail goes through the foot of the glacier of the Nun and Kun. Passport control at Panikhar, O/N in the hotel

DAY 17: Kargil to Leh. Via Lamayuru/Alchi 7-8 hrs. Drive
We leave the Kargil and head toward Indus valley, On the way visit famous Lamayuru and old monastery of Alchi, further drive to Leh, night in hotel.

DAY 18: Around Leh;
Visit Shey, Thiksey, Hemis monastery. full day sight-seeing to the famous monasteries of Ladakh. Back to hotel, O/N in hotel.

DAY 19: explore Leh,
Visit monastery in the town, Leh palace, Shanti stupa, and rest of the time at leisure, night in hotel.

DAY 20: Leh-Delhi flight,
Transfer to the domestic air port, flight to Delhi. Transfer from airport to hotel, afternoon at leisure. O/N in hotel. 

DAY 21: Departure; Visit old or new Delhi
(Full day sight seeing), evening transfer to International airport for Flight to onward destination.
