"Detailed Itinerary"
Day 1: Delhi - Kalka - Shimla:
Take the Shatabdi Express train to Chandigarh driving on to Shimla. Walk down the mall a glimpse of the colonial structures and views of the Himalayas. (Overnight hotel)
Day 2: Shimla - Sarahan
Drive to Narkanda to Rampur ascending to the town of Sarahan. (Overnight hotel)
Day 3: Sarahan - Sangla
Drive to the Baspa Valley in Kinnour, to the Baspa River with the lower slops of the Kinner-Kailash and surrounding forests. (Overnight camp)
Day 4: Sangla - Kalpa
Drive through the Chirkoot Pass with view of the Baspa Valley, descend to Kalpa. The magnificent Kinner-Kailash rises majestically 4500m above the valley floor. (Hotel or tented camp)
Day 5: Kalpa - Tabo
Journey along the Satluj River, the Spiti River to Tabo (3050m) via Yangthang and Samdho along an ancient Tibetan trade route close to the Tibetan border. (Hotel or tented camp)
Day 6: Tabo:
Explore this small village with its unique houses and friendly people. Visit it’s monastery established in 996 A.D. that has one of the world’s richest and most ancient Buddhist art treasures.
Day 7: Tabo - Dhankar - Lalung - Kaza:
Drive to Dhanker, visit an old monastery, next a short, walk to a mountain lake. Journey to Kaza via Lalung side valley of Lingti. (2 nights hotel)
Day 8: Kaza:
Drive to Kibber Village the highest motor-able and the highest post office in world at 4205m. Visit surrounding Buddhist monasteries and drive to visit Key monastery. (Overnight hotel)
Day 9: Kaza - Kunzum La - Chatru:
Drive to Chatru through some incredibly beautiful and rugged country ever imaginable. Approaching Kunzum La (4590m), fantastic panoramic views. (Overnight camp).
Day 10: Chatru - Rohtang Pass - Manali:
Drive you 5 hours towards Lahoul Valley through the untamed rugged mountain terrain amid its snowfields and glaciers that utterly takes your breath away.
Day 11: Manali:
In the morning we drive to the adjoining town of Naggar. The ancient capital of the Kullu Valley, and visit the Naggar Castle. Built in the 18th century astride a sheer sided bluff the castle is built in the traditional “earthquake proof” way common to this region around a central courtyard that houses a legendary shrine. Not far from here is a fine art gallery dedicated to the famous
Russian painter, Nicholas Roerich. Spend the afternoon at leisure to explore Manali.
Day 12: Manali - Kullu - Delhi (by flight):
Tour concludes flight from airport in Bhuntar.
