Hampta Pass Trek Where Two Himalayan Worlds Meet
Cross from the lush green valleys of Manali to the dramatic cold desert of Lahaul on one of Himachal’s most spectacular crossover treks.
A trek through two completely different worlds
Hampta Pass is one of the most dramatic crossover treks in Himachal Pradesh. The trail begins in the green, forested landscapes around Manali and gradually climbs towards the stark mountains and cold desert of Lahaul.
Within a few days, the scenery changes dramatically — from pine forests, waterfalls and meadows to rocky valleys, glaciers, snow patches and the barren landscapes beyond Hampta Pass.
The experience becomes even more memorable with river crossings, high-altitude camps and the optional visit to the beautiful Chandratal Lake.
